Since 2005, Bugadde SACCO has been at the forefront of community-based financial services, empowering thousands of members across Eastern Uganda to achieve their financial goals.
Our Story
BUGADDE Cooperative Savings and Credit Society LTD is a Community-Based Financial Institution registered by the Registrar of Cooperatives in 2005. The idea was started by community members who identified a need for community-based financial institution through which the rural people could access affordable financial services on a sustainable basis since most financial institutions could not address their financial needs.
Community members therefore mobilized resources through purchase of shares and savings to start a Sacco and have continuously contributed to its growth through purchase of more shares, Savings and accessing other Sacco services. Some development partners and government organizations have patterned with the Sacco to help in providing better services to its target clients.
The SACCO has its Head Office and Main Branch at Bugadde Town council, Kityerera Sub-County in Mayuge District with 11 branches covering 12 Districts in Busoga Sub Region and the surrounding areas. The strategic intent of BUGADDE Cooperative Savings and Credit Society includes the Vision, Mission, Core Values, Objectives and the Motto.
Foundation
Bugadde SACCO was founded by community members in Mayuge District who identified the need for accessible financial services for rural communities.
Expansion
Expanded operations to serve multiple sub-counties with new branch offices and increased membership.
Regional Growth
Grew to serve members across multiple districts in the Busoga Sub Region with diverse financial products.
Digital Integration
Modernized operations with improved systems and expanded to 11 branches across 12 districts.
